God Bless America!

Wishing y'all a very happy Independence Day

Welcome to the latest installment of The Weekend Menu.

Starting our business has only been possible because of the support from our community. At every stage of the process there have been great folks there to give guidance and encouragement. It’s amazing how many people from our circle of friends have pitched in.

We never would have been able to get started without friends like Charbel and Geoffrey who were willing to lend their time and expertise. Jess at Creative Jay did awesome work with the logo. And Bennett has been great at guiding us on the legal aspects of building a company.

Figuring out how to take a set of drawings that were sketched out on butcher paper and get them turned into real, quality tools has been quite a winding journey. The goal is to make tools that feel great in your hand, will last, and are produced here in the USA. We’re making progress on making it all happen and hope to have news regarding a release date soon.

Thanks for being part of the SLGW community!

Here are a few things worth checking out:

  1. Armadillo Egg — The ultimate stuffed jalapeño. This is one of my favorite things to cook for a party. It takes some time and energy but it’s totally worth it. If you do go for it, don’t skip the homemade ranch dip. You can get straight to the recipe here.

  2. A classic 4th of July tune — Every summer I am reminded of the movie The Sandlot and their baseball game under the fireworks.

  3. Where to see bluest water in the US - I love swimming, and Havasu Falls has been on the bucket list for a long time. These other spots on the list look like they are worth checking out as well.

  4. “Always stand on principle…even if you stand alone.” - John Adams

Hope y’all have a great 4th of July. God bless America!

Cheers,

Matt
