The Weekend Menu

Don't Call it Charcuterie

Welcome to the latest edition of the weekend menu, presented by St. Lawrence Grill Works.

With temperatures around here still well in the triple digits it’s been tough to fire up the grill lately, so this week we are bringing you some food and drink ideas that can be enjoyed without the flames.

Here are few things worth checking out this week:

  1. Gregg Popovich Article — It turns out that the winningest coach in NBA history may know more about food and wine than about basketball. He also spends more on cuisine than most NBA coaches make in a year. There is a chapter devoted to this story in The Culture Code, which is a great book on leadership.

  2. Meat and Cheese Board — If the thought of standing by a fire in the heat is less than appealing and you still want a meaty treat, then this is for you. It of course also goes well with wine, in case you worked up a thirst reading about Gregg Popovich.

  3. Cooking in the Heat — Some folks are dedicated to the craft and depend on it for their livelihood. It’s a tough job, and we’re glad they’re out there keeping the fires stoked.

  4. "'Play the right way' means play unselfishly, respect each other's achievements, play hard, fulfill your role." —Gregg Popovich
