The Weekend Menu

Back to the Basics

Welcome to this week’s installment of The Weekend Menu, presented by St. Lawrence Grill Works.

Things continue to progress with getting the tools and gear made and available for you to purchase. While we’re not there yet, each week we’re a little bit closer so please stay tuned.

We’re going to be traveling over the next few days and will skip next week’s edition while we recover from a long road trip.

Here are a few things worth checking out:

  1. The Best Chocolate Chip Cookie — “Nobody needs another chocolate chip cookie recipe.” —My wife. She’s not wrong, but still, this one is worth trying. Not sure why, but the chocolate chips stay gooey so much longer than normal with this recipe.

  2. History of the Big Green Egg — I have loved my BGE ever since getting it seven years ago. It is an amazing tool for cooking anything you can think of, and here’s the story of how the popular grill came to be.

  3. Built to Move — An awesome book on how to take care of yourself. The author, a physical therapist, has worked pro athletes, special forces soldiers and even a couple of presidents. He’s boiled down his experience in a way that can help anyone who wants to get moving.

  4. “I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” —Teddy Roosevelt
